The Case for Solar

Virtually Unlimited Supply

Each minute of each day, enough sunlight reaches the Earth's surface to meet the world's energy demand for an entire year. Solar is not a scarce resource — it just needs to be captured.

🌎

Clean, Emission-Free Power

We chose to use clean electricity from photovoltaic panels to replace power produced by coal, oil, and natural gas power plants. Every kWh we generate is one less kWh from a fossil fuel plant.

🏠

Commitment to Renewable Energy

A solar power system on our home demonstrates our family's commitment to clean, renewable energy. It's a statement we make every single day — visible on our roof to every neighbor and passerby.

Net Metering — The Meter Spins Backwards

Our solar inverters connect directly into National Grid, our local utility. When the sun shines and we generate more than we use, our electric meter literally spins backwards — feeding clean energy to our neighbors.

📈

Proven, Reliable Technology

Photovoltaic technology has no moving parts and is extremely reliable. Our Kyocera 187-Watt panels come with a 25-year warranty. After more than two decades, ours are still producing strong.

💡 Did You Know?

Rhode Island offers net metering, allowing solar homeowners to receive credit for excess electricity sent to the grid. Combined with federal tax incentives available at the time of our installation, going solar made strong financial sense — as well as environmental sense.

🇺🇸 Challenge America

Let's Challenge America to Go Solar

As we watch the price of gasoline and oil continue to rise, why not put our money where our mouths are? This great country was built on doing things better, faster, and cheaper. When it comes to renewable energy, we are not yet number one — but we can be, if we get involved.

Tell your representatives to do more with renewable energy. The technology exists. The resources are limitless. All we need is the will.
